The Kuopio Unit

The Kuopio unit is situated in central eastern Finland around the lake area of Kallavesi. There are c. 85 000 inhabitants in Kuopio.

Every Unit has it`s own profile. The purpose of HUMAK is to provide it`s students with possibilities to evolve into professionals in their chosen fields.
Kuopio unit is profiled against: Translation and Interpretation, Communication between the cultures, Finnish language and Sign Language

Facilities

Our accommodation capacity is 60 beds. There are both single and twin rooms available and one room furnished to accommodate handicapped students. The residential halls are modern and the equipment and teaching facilities are up-to-date.

Leisure Activities

Kuopio Unit is situated in a natural setting, next to the lake Kallavesi. There are excellent possibilities for rowing and camping in the near nature. The city of Kuopio is 12 km north from the Unit. There are sports and ball halls and a swimming hall in Kuopio. There are also possibilities for bowling, golf and horse back riding. There is an annual World Champion ski jumping competition in Kuopio. The skiing and skating possibilities are great! Also an international ice skating marathon is arranged on the lake Kallavesi. There are many possibilities for downhill skiing in the winter.
