The Helsinki unit

The Helsinki Unit is located in Light House (Valkea Talo), in the Folk High School of the Deaf. The folk high school was established in 1987. It offers education among others in Finnish, Finnish Sign Language and Computing. Also available are short courses and Open University courses. The Finnish Association of the Deaf is also situated in Light House, creating a natural, signing environment. Thus the Helsinki Unit is an ideal place to study sign language interpreting.
